If you look up the word “triage” in a dictionary, it will probably say something about the assigning of priority to things in an attempt to maximize productivity. In the hospital, its the first place you go, and they assign you to wait until your case is “important” enough for the hospital to allocate its resources to you. I’m calling this little journal “life in triage” because that’s kind of where my life is right now. I’m where I’m supposed to be, but waiting for my chance at actually living life. My name has not yet been called, but I’m learning the tools it will take for me to be effective when it is. I’m in a holding pattern, feeling liberated yet impotent, circling the waiting room like a buzzard waiting for life to begin.
